Fault diagnosis in a hydraulic process using unknown input observers

In this paper, an approach for the design of unknown input observers is developed to estimate the state of a linear time-invariant dynamical system driven by both known and unknown inputs. The method has been applied on a real hydraulic installation in order to detect and localize actuator faults.
