Combined effect of DGD and PDL evaluated in field testbed for 128-Gb/s PDM-QPSK signal

We experimentally investigated the combined effect of DGD and PDL in installed fibers for the first time. The experimental results show that the Q-factor variation caused by PDL decreases as the DGD value increases.
