Recent progress in non-planar microwave filters — From theory and practices (invited talk)

Summary form only given. Microwave filter is a compulsory sub-system in all the communication systems. Its electric properties and characteristics decisively determine the overall performance of a communication satellite and a wireless communication network. To meet the high demand on more stringent frequency selections, faster manufacturing turnaround time, more compact size and, above all, a better understanding of the business from the theory to practices. This talk will focuses on the recent progress of microwave filters and the development trend in the industry. Although the theories and techniques to be presented are for advanced nonplanar microwave bandpass filters and multiplexers in particular, the basic principle is also applicable to planar filters in general.
