Recognizing engineering drawing entities: technology and results

The problem of engineering drawing (ED) image recognition is analyzed. We extract and describe the main stages of the technology and show how an initial image could be transformed into the final representation. The intermediate image models are shown and described as well as the possible output image representations. The main principles of ED image interpretation are introduced. Practical results as well as our experience in ED image interpretation is briefly described.
