Hydrothermal synthesis of TiO2 nanorod arrays on transparent conducting substrates

In this research, we compare hydrothermally synthesized TiO
₂
nanorods in an unsealed and a sealed system, respectively. Due to the variation of hydrothermal concentration, the morphology is very different. Then we further pre-fabricate a TiO
₂
seed layer by the sol-gel method and then hydrothermally synthesize TiO
₂
nanorods. The TiO
₂
nanorods can also be grown on the TiO
₂
seed layer successfully. This result exhibits the promising potential for the growth of TiO
₂
nanorods on versatile substrates.
