Space charge and induced mechanical deformation cartographies by FLIMM and digital image correlation on electron irradiated PTFE thin film

We have shown in this work an interesting correlation between accumulated space charge and induced mechanical deformation. A PTFE 50 µm thick was irradiated by an electron beam in order to implant space charge according to the geometry of a hole of 200 µm diameter. FLIMM technique was used for the execution of three-dimensional space charge cartography. For induced mechanical deformation cartography, a technique of image processing permit to obtain full-field strain was used. According to the obtained results, the irradiated region was highlighted on both space charge and induced mechanical deformation cartographies. Moreover, the deformation of the irradiated region was reinforced with the presence of space charge.
