ISO 14001, an opportunity for EcoDesign

EcoDesign, the Eco-logically conscious product Design, may be considered as a continuous improvement process leading to a "greener" product. This process nature is well covered by the EMS (Environmental Management System) approach, since the ISO 14001 standard clearly specifies the scope as "the organization's processes, products and services". Hence, EcoDesign is part of the Philips strategic approach to incorporate actual environmental improvement into day-to-day business operations.
