Traction electric drives: an indirect identification method of friction forces

The paper suggests an identification procedure of the adhesion force between wheels and rails. The procedure can be successfully used for implementation of antiskidding control algorithms. The practical validity of the method suggested is proved by simulated results and experimentally conducted tests on a scale model.
