An Analytical Approach to the Economical Assessment of Wind Distributed Generators Penetration in Electric Power Systems with Centralized Thermal Generation

Nowadays, there is a growing global tendency on the usage of distributed generators based on renewable energy sources. In this context, this work proposes an analytical approach to the economical assessment related to the penetration of wind distributed generators in electrical networks. This analysis is based on an analytical method that considers the uncertainties associated to the wind power generation and to the power demand of the electric power system. The proposed method is also capable of estimating technical and economical parameters involved with the penetration of wind distributed generators. Tests were carried out, based on the implemented methodology and on a simplified network model, yielding satisfactory results.
