The peculiar circumstances of the iarc working group on radio-frequency electromagnetic fields and cellular telephones [telecommunications health & safety]

An International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) working group reviewed hundreds of scientific articles, and then reached the conclusion that current evidence is sufficiently strong to support a classification of possibly carcinogenic to humans for radio-frequency electromagnetic fields including those employed by cellular mobile telephones. It is curious to note that just days before the working group was scheduled to convene for a week, an invited participant was removed from the panel of experts for "possible perception of conflict of interest," but another (a sole proprietor of a consulting firm) was allowed to stay.
