Spin Pumping in Polycrystalline Magnetic Insulator/Metal Pt Films

In this paper, we demonstrate the spin pumping, spin current generation from magnetization dynamics, at an interface between metal Pt and polycrystalline magnetic insulator Bi
_x
Y
_3-x
Fe
₅
O
₁₂
(
x
=0 and 1) prepared by the metal-organic decomposition method. We measured the electromotive force due to the inverse spin-Hall effect induced by the spin pumping in a polycrystalline Y
₃
Fe
₅
O
₁₂
/Pt and a polycrystalline BiY
₂
Fe
₅
O
₁₂
/Pt films. We found that spin mixing conductance estimated from the magnitude of the electromotive force for the BiY
₂
Fe
₅
O
₁₂
/Pt is much greater than that for the Y
₃
Fe
₅
O
₁₂
/Pt.
