List representation of assembly sequences

Being the key data for designing assembly lines, assembly sequences can be expressed graphically and textually. Comparing the existing graphical representations, this paper considers the optimal procedural network. A list is recommended as a textual representation of the assembly sequence, which can be handled conveniently by computer. Its formal definition and the Prolog rules of processing lists are detailed.
