3D Model construction of virtual campus

Virtual simulation is one of the core techniques and essential steps of realizing digital city. As a miniature of digital city, virtual campus was widely built in colleges and universities. Combining 3ds Max with MultiGen Creator, the 3D model of virtual campus of South China Agricultural University was built according to the merits of the two major modeling software. And the paper introduced the essential principles and some solutions of the 3D model of virtual campus, including some bottle-necks and their solution. These contents play an important role in choosing software platform as well as building 3D virtual scenes for digital city.
