Luminance component in skin color detection

Our paper describes the dependency of luminance component and the skin color detection accuracy in face detection. We use YCbCr color model for skin color modeling. Based on the skin color model face detection is performed. Luminance component is proposed to be irrelevant in face detection, but there is the dependency between luminance component value of skin color and face detection results. We show how the dependency influents face detection and we also give a solution how to gain face detection efficiency for the faces with skin color types with the lower luminance component values.
