Gas Heating Effects in a Nanosecond-Pulse Streamer Discharge Interacting With a Supersonic $\hbox{O}_{2}{-}\hbox{H}_{2}$ Flow

We discuss gas heating effects in an anodic-pulse 4-kV 10-ns discharge interacting with a Mach 3 supersonic premixed O
₂
-H
₂
boundary layer flow. Rapid gas heating occurs in the electrode near-field region with gas temperature increase on the order of 100 K-200 K. The rapid heating of the gas mixture results in micro blast waves which propagate into the free stream and eventually decay.
