Past and future of quantitative 3-D electrocardiography and vectorcardiography

The clinical use of Vectorcardiography has declined, but because of its sound physical basis, the signal processing of orthogonal electrocardiograms has gained in importance. The author reviews the history of quantitative Vectorcardiography and of future prospects in processing the electrocardiograms.
