Adaptive regularization of the inverse problem in electrocardiography

The inverse problem in electrocardiography is aimed at characterizing electrical activity within the heart muscle by harvesting remote-sensing data. Electrical potentials on the surface of the heart are obtained by solving a boundary value problem using the boundary element method in concert with a regularization technique. Use of adaptive regularization is demonstrated to be superior to traditional methods for solving the inverse problem.
