Will Safety Necessarily Lead to Voice? The Moderated Effect of Individualism-Collectivism and Power Distance

This paper investigated into whether psychological safety, the fully discussed mechanism aimed at motivating voice, can be universally effective for people who differs across culture. Based on Hofstede's cultural framework, we contend that individualism-collectivism and power diatance moderate the relationship between psychological safety and voice to supervisor. When employees are high in collectivism and/or power distance, the relationships turn out to be weaker.
