Compensation Method of Cross-Axis Effect for AMR Sensor

Cross-axis effect, which is inherent to anisotropic magnetoresistive sensor (referred to as AMR sensor), would have an impact on accurate measurement of magnetic field. For non-orthogonal system, model and compensation algorithm of cross-axis effect for AMR three-axis sensor were established. Taking measurement of proton precession magnetometer as a standard, AMR magnetometer and non-magnetic rotary table were used for outdoor experiments. According to test data, Newton-Raphson iteration method was utilized to calculate compensation parameters. The results showed that compensation method further reduced error of total magnetic field.
