Polarization insensitive wavelength selective switch using LCOSs and monolithically integrated multi-layered AWG

We successfully demonstrated signal switching using an LCOS-based wavelength selective switch which had a monolithically integrated multi-layered AWG. The polarization dependent loss of less than 1 dB was obtained around the central channel in C-band.
