Optical coherence tomography imaging based on novel fiber lasers

Fiber lasers have been developed for biomedical imaging applications of optical coherence tomography. Based on a highly non-linear fiber, we implemented a novel wavelength-swept laser using a cascaded Raman gain around 1310 nm in a ring cavity for swept-source OCT. Novel continuous-wave supercontinuum was also demonstrated using the highly non-linear fiber for spectral-domain OCT due to the smooth, flat spectrum and long-term stability of source.
