Consequences of Lorentz invariance: A road towards first principle standards for magnetic field and mass

In this paper a study of the two-particle hydrogen atom is presented, based on a purely classical Lagrange formalism. It will be shown that quantization (which is the essence of quantum mechanics) evolves naturally from the Lorentz invariance of the electromagnetic interactions. The fundamental conservation of (4-)momentum suggests a way to define mass.
