Terahertz resonance splitting via mutual coupling between parallel-plate waveguide cavities

The inclusion of multiple resonant cavities in a terahertz TE
₁
-mode parallel-plate waveguide induces splitting of the fundamental resonance due to coupling between the cavities. The resulting features have a higher Q-value than the original resonance.
