The Simulation of Coherent Structures with Inverse Initial Rotating Models in a Laminar Boundary Layer

The compact finite difference schemes on non-uniform meshes and the Fourier spectral hybrid method are used to direct simulate the evolution of the coherent structures in a laminar boundary layer, and two inverse rotating models was tested to built initial conditions of coherent structures. Numerical results show, the maximum amplitude of the positive rotating model experience a liner growth and a nonlinear rapid growth, the multiply of vertical disturbance velocity and mean flow shear is the most important factor for the coherent structures development, the streak, the streamwise votex and the Reynolds stress are consistent to structures seen in the fully turbulent. Contrastively, the maximum amplitude of the negative rotating model do not grow up and develop obviously, its streamwise votex and Reynolds stress is too week to be found after some time's evolution. The dynamics of coherent structures in a laminar boundary layer is closely relevant to its initial theoretical model or disturbance measures.
