Differentiation of Medical Electronics in Organization of the IRE and AIEE

The decade before the January 1963 merger of the Institute of Radio Engineers, combining the Society of Wireless Telegraph Engineers and the Wireless Technical Institute in 1912, and the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, founded in 1884, was a time of internationalization, computing applications, and journal start-ups.
