Magnetic resonance angiography

As the world's population increases day by day, the need for health care also increases. In recent years progress in medical care has been rapid especially in the fields of neurology and cardiology. With the evolving technological improvements, non-invasive techniques have developed in all walks of medicine. We have non-invasive therapies for pain, to study blocks in the blood vessels, and treating fractured fingers without surgery. This paper mainly deals with the non-invasive method for angiography, using MR techniques avoiding the use of catheters and needles, which is in fact a very great boon to those who are scared of needles. The two well known techniques are 1) time of flight MRA (TOF) 2) phase contrast MRA. Of these, TOF MRA is the most commonly used technique clinically and we shall discuss the same.
