Attempts for bridging circuits geometrical topologies with equivalent network architecture synthesis

This contribution is an attempt to bridge circuit geometrical topologies with equivalent network architecture synthesis. For bridging between physical topology (layout-driven) and equivalent network representations (lumped elements circuit driven), electromagnetic eigen-states are introduced. While most of available broadband extraction methodologies cast global Z or Y parameters in pole-residue expansions, the proposed synthesis approach considers, in place of global Z and Y parameters, realizable alternative state-variables to derive in lumped circuit elements. Such alternative state-variables referenced as eigen-states input impedance/admittance can be easily extracted from measurement or from EM analysis with appropriate canonical excitations. Link between physical layout topologies and equivalent circuit representations is suggested for optimization/response-tuning purposes. ports is extended, in this work, to non-symmetrical structures as well. The validity of the broadband extraction methodology is demonstrated through correlations with measurement.
