Evaluation of network topology in a distributed processing environment

In this paper we compare through simulation the performance of two network topologies for distributed processing applications. The first topology consists of four local FDDI networks interconnected through a central ATM switch. The second topology consists of four local ATM networks interconnected by a central ATM switch.
