Design of a compact and broadband conical monopole antenna

This paper has presented a metallic conical antenna by incorporating an inverted hollow cone, a capacitive cap, four inductive posts and a folded structure. The design approach, measured and simulated results of the proposed conical antenna have been provided. The designed prototype achieves a 10dB return loss bandwidth from 121MHz to 1520MHz with a vertical height of

/10. Further reduction of the monopole by loading with magneto dielectric materials is the subject of our ongoing study.
