HTS MTM Bandpass Directional Filters for Multiplexing and Wireless Applications

The design and simulation of two high-temperature superconducting (HTS) metamaterial (MTM) directional filters for wireless communications is presented. The four-port filters present multiplexing characteristics and are designed using composite-right-left-handed (CRLH) zeroth-order closed loop resonators, which present small dimensions and suppression of harmonic resonances. The structure presents a bandpass behavior at one port and its complementary reject band response at other port. A second filter is further miniaturized by using a MTM transmission line (TL) instead of a conventional one. The simulated responses are presented showing good results.
