Adaptive-modulation/SFH/TDMA system for high quality and high capacity microcellular systems

This paper proposes an adaptive modulation/slow frequency hopping/time division multiple access (adaptive modulation/SFH/TDMA) system to achieve high quality and high spectral efficient multimedia services with its bit rate of 32 kbit/s-Mbit/s. To improve co-channel interference immunity of the receiver, the proposed system employs a demodulation scheme controlled adaptive modulation, SFH, and a feed-forward error correction (FEC). The proposed system also employs a multi-pilot symbol aided multipath fading compensation method that can compensate for the multipath fading with the maximum delay time of the delayed wave of up to one symbol duration. Computer simulation confirms that the proposed system can achieve high quality and high bit transmission rate in microcellular systems.
