Numerical evaluation of electromagnetic force induced in high T/sub c/ superconductor with grain boundary

This paper describes a new method to calculate the electromagnetic force acting between a high T/sub c/ superconducting material and permanent magnet, where the effect of a grain boundary in the high T/sub c/ superconductor is taken into account. The results show that hysteresis of the electromagnetic force is strongly affected by existence of the grain boundary.
