An efficient algorithm for high resolution, power quality measurements of sparsely distributed power system harmonics and inter harmonics

Power quality issues often are related to the presence of harmonic and nonharmonic frequencies. The authors have developed a more efficient and accurate solution than traditional FFT (fast Fourier transform) approaches. The approach combines the strengths of the FFT, CZT (chirp Z transform), and DFT (discrete Fourier transform) in a composite algorithm called the "variable search method".
