Development of signaling safety system for realizing high density and high speed train operation

In this paper, the authors propose a new methodology to shorten a required time interval for high density train operation. They focus on the relative speed control method. It is difficult to apply this control method when two trains stop at a same platform effectively. By introducing three new equations to avoid collision, they apply this control method to the case, and succeed in shortening the required time interval. The simulation results show that the required time interval is 6 seconds shorter than the best current control method.
