The multidisciplinary PhD program at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee

A multidisciplinary doctorate program that encompasses all departments is discussed. Although initial admission is to a disciplinary PhD program, the degree is actually granted by the graduate school itself. The background and operation of the program as well as problems involved in such a venture are discussed.<
