Nonlinear Filtering and Smoothing for Noisy Alternating Renewal Processes with Applications

A nonlinear estimation scheme for estimating a noisy alternating renewal process signal transmitted through an analog channel is considered. The derivation for a nonlinear smoother and results of computer simulation illustrating some potential applications are presented.
