A high current electron switch with deep volume charge compensation

The current switching by means of a gas-filled electron switch has been studied experimentally and theoretically. The switch showed complete controllability under deep volume charge compensation conditions. The switched current density was an order of magnitude higher than the current density of a similar vacuum switch.
