WINDS-a wide area directory services for network management

As the number of local computer networks connected with wide area computer networks increases, information required for network management tasks increases. In order to accommodate such kind of information, various kinds of network management information databases (NMI-DB) have been developed. In this paper, we propose a wide area directory service system for network management, referred to as the WINDS system. Its architecture and implementation are described.<
