Performance analyses of multiclasses traffic in asynchronous bufferless optical packet switched networks

Wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) has emerged as the most promising technology to increase available capacity in future optical core networks. Among the all-optical network architectures considered in recent literature, OPS and OBS are viewed as the most promising, at least in the long run. In this paper, we propose a Probabilistic Preemptive (PP) scheme for service differentiation in Optical Packet Switching (OPS) networks. By changing the preemptive probability, the blocking probability in nonblocking optical packet switch and non-wavelength converters with ON/OFF input traffic model are evaluated. The accuracy of the analytical formula is confirmed through various simulation scenarios.The useful results are obtained.
