A Numerical Method for Estimation of Core Characteristics

A method for estimating the characteristics of magnetic cores with gaps in the magnetic circuits was studied to aid in the design of electrical equipment based on such cores. The eddy current effect in a core was considered from the point of view of classical theory, while the tableau equation was obtained by applying the tableau method to the circuit. Expected values for the measurable circuit variables are given by the periodic solutions of the tableau equation, and these can be used to investigate the ratios of hysteresis loss and eddy current loss, very difficult in a measurement.
