Study on the Magnetically Soft Materials of Si-Added Low Ni Permalloy

Si was added to high-permeability Ni-Fe permalloy with approximately 38% Ni to increase the ac magnetic characteristics and the effects on the magnetic properties and resistivity were investigated. It was found H
_c
is improved, but the B
r
and B
_m
characteristics were worse for samples annealed at 1300°C. The effective permeability μe of samples annealed at 1000°C and at 1200°C showed a similar tendency to decrease over the measured frequency range of 1 kHz to 100 kHz.
