A Solid-State, One-Watt, Tunable Exciter for the 4.4 - 5.0 GC Communications Band

This paper descriaes a number of new techniques leading to the development of a completely solid-state source capable of delivering power in excess of 3 watts at a fixed frequency in "C" band, or power in excess of 1 watt rapidly tunable within an 18% bandwidth centered at 4.7 gc.
