Rare-Earth-Doped Fiber Lasers for Spectroscopic Trace-Gas Detection

Advantages and limitations of fiber-based laser systems for trace-gas detection will be reviewed. The authors present example applications and instruments for in situ and remote detection at wavelengths from the mid-IR through the deep-UV.
