Researchers have come up with patches to let current Internet technology cope with new developments. With this in mind, scientists throughout the world are looking at a large-scale overhaul of some basic Internet elements to eliminate the need to constantly create workarounds to meet challenges. They are conducting what some call clean-slate-lnternet research. The Internet's top three challenges are large-scale support for mobility, efficient content dissemination, and security.
