Ultra-wide band surface wave communication for a distributed sensor network

In this project, the application of ultra wideband (UWB) at high frequencies (HF) is investigated as a means to address these issues. Due to the low duty cycle of the pulse, the energy requirements are significantly reduced. UWB is the propagation of transient pulses rather than continuous wave which makes the system easy to implement, inexpensive and small. Using HF surface wave propagation (instead of commercial SHF UWB) extends the communication range between buoys.
