Modelisation of 2D and axisymmetric magnetodynamic domain by the finite elements method

A finite element analysis for calculating the magnetic field under different supply conditions on the voltages or currents using the vector potential A in 2D and axisymmetric cases is described. The formulation takes into account coils as well as massive conductors. For sinusoidal currents and voltages, the formulation allows the finite element domain to be modeled as a complex impedance matrix, making coupling with exterior circuit equations easy. Some numerical applications are presented and compared with experimental results.<>
