CMOS UWB transceiver for Impulse Radio

In this paper, an Impulse Radio (IR) UWB transceiver system design is presented. The presented circuit includes a bipolar pulse generator based on on-chip filter impulse response, and a LNA coupled with high-speed 1-bit digitizer. The presented study is based on several elementary block realizations (LNA, VCO, RF-filter) on a 0.13um CMOS standard technology. The impact over the characteristics of the whole system performances from these blocks is analyzed and the design of those main elements is also described.
