Performance Investigation of Tunable Optical Delay for ASK and DPSK Signals Using Four-Wave Mixing Wavelength Conversion in a Bismuth Oxide Highly Nonlinear Fiber

A compact fiber-optic approach is demonstrated for an optically controlled variable delay for 10-Gb/s ASK and DPSK signals using four-wave mixing and group velocity dispersion. The measured power penalty is less than 4 dB.
