Proposal for the Generation of THz Bursts and Codes of Shaped Femtosecond Pulses Using Binary Masks

We propose the use of binary masks to generate trains of femtosecond pulses with high-repetition rate and shaped envelope. Their relative simple design makes them useful for the generation of programmable binary code patterns. Furthermore, a variable temporal window for the pulse sequences is achieved. Some computer simulations are presented.
