A Decoupled Linear Programming Technique for Power System State Estimation

This paper presents a decoupled linear programming approach to solve the power system state estimation problem. The original problem is decoupled into two L.P. subproblems, namely P-θ and Q-V. These are solved in a sequential manner until the final solution is reached. The elements of the Jacobean matrix are approximated to become constants which need to be evaluated once only at the beginning of the first iteration. This leads to a significant reduction in computer storage and solution time. The accuracy of the final state variables is unaffected by the approximations.
